There is no mistaking this showy cultivar of the Eastern Redbud tree. It announces the arrival of spring with profusion of tiny rose-purple, pea-like flowers, followed by a summer show of burgundy colored heart-shaped leaves, and ends the season with a colorful display of red, purple, and yellow leaves. It is a small tree with a maximum height of about 20 feet.
Its flowers are a favorite of hummingbirds and bees.
